In the beginning of 1980s, I started to learn woodworking, making furnitures. It is a very coincident that I met Sir. Gareth Raphaël, owner of a cutlery merchandise. He showed me his vast private collections, including works from world famous knife makers. From that moment on, I was hooked. I start to buy different materials to create knives, but mostly wild hunters. Gareth encouraged me to make knives in a more ‘delicate’ way, by introducing more splendid materials including mother of pearls, topaz, flickering diamonds. I also started to apply more shining mirror finishing in my blades, as well as more sophisticated designs. As the result you can see, both wilderness and refinement live hand-in-hand in my works with ideal harmony.
To express more spirituality in fine art, i always try to integrate more innovative elements in my work. I want every knife to be a personal statement, of my life at that very moment.
